Name: Asia Dabrowski
Where you and your dog live: Vancouver Canada is home, but the world is our travel playground
Your current age: 30
Your age when you got your dog: We welcomed Star Aug 13, 2016 so I would’ve been 28
What do you do? I am a FT Dog Momager
Dog’s name: Starsky
Dog’s age: Turning 2 on June 25
Starsky is a 2 year old golden retriever, full of spunk, goofiness & love. He is originally from Washington but is now living as a Canadian citizen in Vancouver, BC. We got Star as a puppy and he’s easily the best part of every day.
Why did you want a dog?
I’ve always been dog obsessed. My fiancé and I both separately wanted to have a golden retriever & that (healthy) obsession grew stronger when we started our relationship. Dogs are the biggest blessings on earth & we wanted to have one of our own to do life with.
How has having a dog changed your life?
Starsky has completely changed the direction of my life. He is the reason I quite my job to pursue being a crazy dog mom AND FT Dog Momager. I used to joke saying I wanted to be a stay at home dog mom, and that joke kinda turned into my reality now.
How do/did you deal with having a dog in your twenties, may it be now or previously? What is/was your daily routine? Any hard times? Unique characteristics about your dog?
My fiancé & I have never really followed a set schedule, we operate out of the ‘go with the flow’ mentality & I’m so grateful that since welcoming Starsky, he kinda adapted that personality by default. He LOVES to sleep in which is ideal in our family.
What are some of your favorite things to do with your dog?
We love hiking, swimming and traveling the world with Star. We recently did a road trip from Vancouver to San Diego where we collaborated with a ton of dog friendly hotels along the way. He basically got to swim the entire West coast & was in heaven every single day.
Does anyone help you take care of your dog while at work or school?
My fiancé and I both work from home so we share the responsibilities of taking him outside for his walks/adventures.
If you are in a relationship, how does your partner feel about your dog?
We are both obsessed with Starsky, and we are already talking about adding another pupper to our family!
What is The Dog Momager?
The Dog Momager is a passion project that was inspired by Starsky. I launched his Instagram account @starskythegoldie when he was a puppy with the intention of it being just a hobby account. It grew quickly and has opened so many doors for us & most importantly helped me figure out my purpose in life. I launched the Dog Momager as a play off of the account & my intention is to help educate/ inspire other dog mamas in the world of dog social media accounts.
I launch new videos on my Youtube channel focused on topics and questions that have been most commonly asked to me. I want to share my experience to help others win in this game of being crazy dog moms!
What inspired you to start The Dog Momager?
Starsky was the inspiration behind launching the Dog Momager but now my inspiration lies in the other dog mamas who are sharing their pups with the world. I want to help others find success with their accounts while having fun in the process. I want to educate & share my personal experience & endless research in hopes to shine light on certain topics like feeding raw, traveling with a pup, dog friendly hotels & building out a dog social media account.
Tell us about the causes you support.
I am a big believer in giving back, which is the reason a portion of all product sales from my website are donated to causes I feel very passionate about. Right now the charities in the spotlight are ones focused around helping save dogs/animals from the Asian meat market. Golden Bond Rescue + Animal Hope & Wellness hold a special place in my heart for all their tireless effort in saving these animals and giving them a second chance at life.
Tell us about your products.
Right now I produce content and videos on my Instagram + YouTube channel that I feel is very educational & enjoyable to watch (Starsky is quite literally a Star when the camera comes out!). I sell branded Dog Momager gear on my website www.thedogmomager.com for other mamas to rock & be proud of! I will soon be launching a blog component to my website which will be another way to add value to others.
