Meet The Dogs & Dog Moms Behind Dig-The Dog Person’s Dating App

April 25, 2018 by Amanda & Antoniette

Name: Casey Isaacson

Where you and your dog live: Brooklyn

Your current age: 27

Your age when you got your dog: 23

What do you do?: Chief Creative Officer of Dig-The Dog Person’s Dating App

Dog’s name: Layla

Dog’s age: 3

Dog’s story:
I got Layla for my 23rd birthday when she was just 8 weeks old. She is a Cavapoo and loves all people and dogs.

Why did you want a dog?
I grew up with dogs and my life felt empty without one.

How has having a dog changed your life?
She inspired me to create a dating app for people who love dogs. She comes with me everywhere I go and she spreads love where ever she goes.

How do/did you deal with having a dog in your twenties, may it be now or previously? What is/was your daily routine? Any hard times? Unique characteristics about your dog?:
She and I are a package deal. She comes to work with me, will go to bars with me and cuddles on the couch with me. The only hard times are when we are apart!

What are some of your favorite things to do with your dog?
She is a very good shopping buddy.

Does anyone help you take care of your dog while at work or school?
Some jobs I can take her with me, others she goes to daycare.

Name: Leigh Isaacson

Where you and your dog live: New Orleans, LA

Your current age: 29

Your age when you got your dog: 27

What do you do?: CEO of Dig - The Dog Person's Dating App

Dog’s name: Penny

Dog’s age: 2

Dog’s story:
We picked Penny out of a box of puppies after someone in our neighborhood posted that they had German Shorthaired Pointers available.

Why did you want a dog?
The love, the friendship, and the connection between a person and their dog is unique and undeniably special. I've always had dogs, and I bought my first house across the street from a dog park before meeting Penny!

How has having a dog changed your life?
She's the love of my life! I started exercising with her, I've met new communities of people and friends, and my love for her lead me to start an entire career in the dog world.

How do/did you deal with having a dog in your twenties, may it be now or previously? What is/was your daily routine? Any hard times? Unique characteristics about your dog?:
Penny is a German Shorthaired Pointer, which is one of the most hyper and energetic breeds. Every day, we wake up and go for a run together. By noon, we're going on another half hour walk, and our third walk or visit to the dog park is at 5:00 pm. It's a lot of work, but it's stress relieving and beneficial for both of us to be outside moving! When I'm not working from home, I'm a great customer of Wag, Rover walking and doggy daycare!

What are some of your favorite things to do with your dog?
We have an incredible group of friends (dogs and humans) at the dog park by my house in New Orleans. Penny has a "boyfriend" named Triton - a Doberman. He lives next to the dog park and cries to come out and play whenever he hears Penny.

Does anyone help you take care of your dog while at work or school?
Penny gets a lot of love from dog walkers, or she spends time at Canine Connection or Camp Bow Wow in New Orleans.

If you are in a relationship, how does your partner feel about your dog?
We got Penny together, and compete for her attention daily :-)

What is Dig Dates? What are your goals/What is your mission?
Dig - The Dog Person's Dating App is the best way for dog lovers and dog owners to find a compatible date. Dig is a unique dating app that has additional features to help you plan a dog-friendly date! For example, you can find a dog-friendly location near you to suggest a first date idea, get a daily deal from pet companies, and get tips or tricks of the day from people like vets and trainers.

How did you come up with the idea for Dig Dates? Dig's backstory here: https://digdates.com/presskit/

What is your favorite success story from Dig Dates?
Dig just launched in February, so we're just starting to hear some great stories of why people have signed up. Dig provides a community dedicated to dog lovers and dog owners so you don't have to worry if the person you're talking to will love your dog or not, and users tell us every day how important that is to them! We agree, and we can't wait for the first Dig wedding (and the amazing dog pictures).

Tell us about your rescue efforts:
All of the dogs in our marketing are available for adoption, and each of our events features different rescue partners. We strive to promote the rescue partners as best we can, and we always try to feature adoptable or foster dogs at our events.
