AJ definitely liked his Purina Beyond Cutlets Chicken Dog Treats! It took much patience (from me and AJ) to capture a picture of AJ not eating the snack! However, I then looked up the ingredients while writing this review.
Ingredients are chicken, glycerin and salt.
All ingredients seemed safe, but to be honest I didn't know what glycerin was. I researched it and here's what I found on Google.
"Glycerin's 'benefits' are related to its properties as a binder and sweetener. Glycerin that is derived from animal and plant sources is generally considered a 'safe', albeit nutritionally void ingredient. Risks: Some pet food manufacturers are using Glycerin that is derived from biofuel (e.g. diesel fuel) processing."
I guess if you're using a pet food or treat that has Glycerin in it you just have to hope its not from biofuel... I would recommend not taking your chances if the company has not specified where their Glycerin is derived from. So, I then tried to find out if Purina Beyond specified where the Glycerin was from. They state that the treats and foods are "made with only all-natural ingredients." I'm assuming that includes the Glycerin as well. With that said, AJ did love the treat, but I would definitely want to know FOR SURE that all ingredients are safe!
