Canvas Creation

When your a dog mom you want to show your pup off at all times, and since you could never have enough photos of your baby, heres one more. But, this isn't just any photo, this selfie of your pup brings life and happiness, with your choice of color and pattern! Heres what you need...

Mod Podge
Paintbrush (sponge brush preferred)
Canvas (7 X 9)
Ink Jet Printer Laser jet printer (If you do not have a laser printer, like us, you can print your image at Staples)
Regular Printer Paper (8.5 X 11)

Total price was under $20!

The hardest part of this project is picking the best picture of your pup. You want it to be high quality and you want it to really capture your pups personality.

Next, using Word, remove the background by with the tool seen below. If you have any trouble with the following steps, feel free to reach out with questions!

You will have to remove the back ground again but the next time will be much easier.

Upload the photo into the Cartoon Yourself Application. We tried to use other apps, but found that we liked this one best for high quality photos.

Next remove the background again, as it will be white from the app effect.

Now create a pattern using the Patternator App.

(Crop out the logo if you want.)

Upload both images on the same Word document. Arrange the photo of your dog to front and the pattern to behind text.

When your photo is ready, print the image on a laser printer. If you do not have a laser printer, print at staples! Its easy, fast and cheap!

With the photo and canvas available, paint Mod Podge onto the image. Then, paint some Mod Podge on the canvas. Place the image face down onto the board. Using a credit card or ID, glide over the image to remove any air bubbles. Let it sit for twenty-four hours. If you want the pattern to fold over the canvas edges be sure your canvas is smaller then the photo. However, if you wish you could paint the edges any color to give it a finished-product-feel.

After twenty-four hours, head over to the sink, wet your fingers and rub the image in a circular motion. You will see the paper peel off. If this is taking you a while... don't worry your doing it right! Be patient and gentle to prevent taking off any of the wanted areas. Do this until all of the paper has peeled off.

Let it dry for 15 minutes. When the area is dry you will be able to see if all paper was properly removed.

Once all is dry and all paper is removed, put a thin layer of Mod Podge over the image.

ANNDDDDDD WALLA!

Hang that ish up so everyone can see!
